Rohan Masakorala

Mr. Rohan Masakorala is an Honors Graduate in Economics with a second major in Business Administration & Marketing from Connecticut State University, U.S.A. He holds a Diploma in Business Management from Houston University, U.S.A., and is certified in Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University, U.K.

With over thirty years of experience, Mr. Masakorala is an international trade specialist with expertise spanning factory floor operations to global commerce, including exports-imports, ports, logistics, distribution systems, and policy advocacy. He is the Founder and CEO of Shippers’ Academy Colombo and Shippers’ Academy International, Australia.

  • Former Consultant on Logistics to the International Trade Centre in Geneva
  • Former Chairman of the National Exports Strategy on Logistics for the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka
  • UNESCAP certified trainer/lecturer on global supply chains and logistics
  • Secretary General to numerous international institutions and government boards
  • Independent shipping and global commerce consultant, writer, and international speaker

Mr. Masakorala serves on the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s sector engagement committee and is a life member of the Economic Association of Sri Lanka and the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka. He has been instrumental in the development of the hub concept for free zones, Customs reforms, and international trade payment policies. He was also a working group member of the ICC, Paris, for the development of INCOTERMS.

Currently, he is engaged with the US State Department and The Colombo Plan on a Maritime Advisory Programme for capacity development as the Lead Consultant. His work spans policy-related experiences in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Australia, and Myanmar. Additionally, he operates the largest maritime/logistics conference in South Asia under CIMC Events.
