Rohan Masakorala
Rohan Masakorala is an Honors Graduate in Economics with a second major in Business Administration and Marketing from Connecticut State University, USA. He also holds a Diploma in Business Management from Houston University, USA, and is certified in Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University, UK.
As an international trade specialist, Rohan brings over 30 years of experience across diverse disciplines, ranging from factory operations to global commerce (exports-imports), ports, logistics, distribution systems, and policy advocacy. He is the Founder and CEO of Shippers’ Academy Colombo and Shippers’ Academy International in Australia.
Previously, Rohan served as a logistics consultant for the International Trade Centre in Geneva and chaired the National Exports Strategy on Logistics for the Export Development Board of Sri Lanka. He is a UNESCAP-certified trainer and lecturer on global supply chains and logistics and has held positions as Secretary General of several international institutions and government boards. Additionally, he serves as an independent consultant in shipping and global commerce, a writer, and an international speaker.
Rohan is currently a member of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka’s sector engagement committee and a life member of both the Economic Association of Sri Lanka and the Wildlife and Nature Protection Society of Sri Lanka. He has played a key role in developing the hub concept for free zones, implementing Customs reforms, and establishing payment policies for international trade. As a former working group member of the ICC, Paris, he contributed to the development of INCOTERMS.
Currently, Rohan is engaged with the US State Department and The Colombo Plan on the Maritime Advisory Programme, where he serves as the Lead Consultant for capacity development. His work spans policy-related experiences in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Singapore, Australia, and Myanmar. He also operates the largest maritime and logistics conference in South Asia under CIMC Events.
