Apeksha Hospital cares for patients who may require ongoing stoma care following surgery or during cancer treatment. Colostomy bags and compatible base plates are essential single-use medical supplies that help patients manage stoma output safely, protect the skin around the stoma and maintain comfort and dignity in daily life. Your contribution can help provide essential colostomy care supplies to patients at Apeksha Hospital, supporting safer stoma management, better comfort and greater dignity during treatment and recovery.

NCISL plans to procure and commission six new ICU ventilators in 2027. The proposal identifies this as a very urgent Priority 1 requirement for the Surgical ICU and Paediatric ICU. The project will strengthen access to dependable mechanical ventilation for critically ill cancer patients who require invasive or advanced respiratory support. Your contribution will help NCISL expand access to urgently required respiratory support for critically ill adult and paediatric cancer patients.

NCISL plans to procure and commission 20 ICU-capable multiparameter monitors in 2027. Ten units will address very urgent Priority 1 requirements and ten will address urgent Priority 2 requirements. The project will strengthen continuous monitoring in the MICU, operating theatres, transplant units and selected inpatient wards. Your contribution will help NCISL expand access to continuous monitoring and improve the timely recognition of clinical deterioration among adult and paediatric cancer patients.

The National Cancer Institute of Sri Lanka plans to strengthen its endoscopy service by procuring two complete video-endoscopy systems for upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy. The project will improve access to essential diagnostic, surveillance and therapeutic procedures for patients with gastrointestinal cancers and related conditions. Your contribution will help NCISL strengthen access to essential gastrointestinal endoscopy services and support earlier investigation, timely diagnosis and more effective treatment planning for cancer patients.

The Histopathology Laboratory at NCISL processes over 1,000 specimens per month, with the current processor handling 4,000–6,000 blocks monthly, operating continuously. However, the existing processor, now 8 years old, experiences frequent breakdowns.

These issues have resulted in significant backlogs and delays in issuing patient reports, while also compromising the quality of tissue sections.

The officers responsible for maintaining the machine strongly recommend replacing it with a new processor to address these challenges.
