The Histopathology Laboratory at NCISL processes over 1,000 specimens per month, with the current processor handling 4,000–6,000 blocks monthly, operating continuously. However, the existing processor, now 8 years old, experiences frequent breakdowns.

These issues have resulted in significant backlogs and delays in issuing patient reports, while also compromising the quality of tissue sections.

The officers responsible for maintaining the machine strongly recommend replacing it with a new processor to address these challenges.
