Poson Poya Decorations at NCI SL(Apeksha Hospital)
Poson Poya day is observed in Sri Lanka to mark the introduction of Buddhism with the arrival of Arhat Mahinda from India. Major religious events typically take place in Anuradhapura and Mihinthale. During this time, decorations and illuminations are displayed across the country.
The development committee encouraged the Buddhist society to organize a decoration competition for hospital staff on June 10th to commemorate Poson Poya day. The competition was evaluated by a sub-committee designated by the development committee. Mr. Binara Jayawardana, the chairman, provided gifts for the three best entries, which were presented to the respective units on July 2nd, 2025.
